Blocks, fines and rule violations on Ozon: what gets a seller in trouble

2026-09-20OzonKurallar

As sellers tell it: what blocks a card or an account, what the fines cost, when documents are demanded, and how to stay inside the rules.

On Ozon the money is not always lost to commission. A card goes invisible, a handover slips, a document is demanded and never arrives — and the cost comes off the account balance. What follows is drawn from seller videos: Ozon's own onboarding material and independent sellers. It is not an official rulebook, and the figures belong to each video's period.

The violations that get fined

A seller reviewing the January–February 2026 changes lists the violations that get fined: incorrect or incomplete product marking, missed shipping deadlines on FBS, goods that do not match the description or photo, missing mandatory documents, listing prohibited goods, breaking packaging standards. These charges, he notes, used to be called an "order processing service" and are now written up plainly as fines. None of the six requires bad faith: a box measured before packing, a mistyped weight, a claim you cannot document.

What gets blocked: cards, accounts, payouts

Ozon's own starter video splits the catalogue three ways: goods needing no permission; goods admitted after a quality check — supplements, veterinary preparations, child restraints, baby food, jewellery — where entering the data incorrectly is itself a violation followed by a fine; and goods not admitted at all, such as weapons, alcohol, road signs and animals. Prohibited goods in the cabinet are grounds for blocking it together with the goods and terminating the contract. A July 2026 round-up gives an example: motor fuel is banned, and such cards are blocked at moderation.

Moderation trips people up on content. In a guide recorded with Ozon staff the rule is flat: photos may carry no watermarks, no links to third-party sites, no contact details or phone numbers, and such goods never pass, new card or update. Wrong weight and dimensions carry a fine, and measurements must be taken after packing. One case is concrete: a seller had an AI write a sneaker description, it claimed a branded sole technology, and moderation blocked the card for unreliable information — keep the model off technologies you cannot document.

Merging is its own heading. Per the same March 2026 review, merging different models, categories or brands into one card is forbidden; from 15 April a single mistake brings a notice, while a gross violation — systematic repetition, or more than 30% of the cabinet's merges breaking the rule — suspends display of every group and costs 1,000 ₽ per case.

The account and the money

Ozon's scheme comparison video states the FBS risk openly: miss your time obligations and the storefront rating drops, a seller who frequently delays handover can have the cabinet blocked, and an uncollected return goes to paid disposal. A seller walking through FBS confirms it: miss the slot and the goods may not be accepted, you can be shut out of FBS and fined; every order is confirmed by hand, and failing to confirm brings a fine and a possible block. A third says a shop can be suspended for a period, then adds "someone said a week" — hearsay.

Two more blocks involve no violation: you have 45 days after accepting the offer to start selling, or the account can be blocked for inactivity; and if a new account is opened under your tax number, a confirmation request arrives — fail to confirm and it is blocked. Payouts stop for four reasons, per Ozon's payments video: the seller asked, a debt from the previous month, wrong bank details, or a block "for other internal reasons", where the only route offered is support.

Documents, trademarks and counterfeit complaints

To sell an item you need a refusal letter, a declaration of conformity, or a certificate of conformity. Ozon does not ask at registration but can demand them on a buyer's request, and you then have three days, failing which you get a fine or the product is blocked. The paper must be dated to the day the order was placed; backdating does not work. Costs, for that video's period: certificate 65,000–120,000 ₽, declaration 25,000–45,000 ₽, refusal letter around 4,000 ₽. Another seller frames it as risk — some who sell without documents are never caught, others get an immediate block and fines.

The rules are tightening. Since 1 April 2026 the contract requires sellers of marked goods to register in the Chestny Znak system, use the GTIN as the barcode and fill in the customs tariff code. From 1 October 2026 marketplaces will also request that code and run checks where needed — three working days each, older cards by 29 March 2027.

A registered trademark makes blocking copies and lookalikes "incomparably" easier — without one you can barely defend yourself, though the seller who says so adds it is not simple on Ozon either. You register the mark, then apply from the cabinet and pass moderation.

Pressure comes the other way too. A video examining the Ozon ecosystem argues the "original product" badge is a document check only: rightsholder contract, certificates and supply chain are reviewed, the item itself is not. Since January 2026 the badge is paid — 500 ₽ a day, or a deposit returned if no claims arrive, with 25% withheld on a single buyer complaint. April 2026 news adds the regulator: the ministry wants counterfeit-free marketplaces, and the Constitutional Court has weighed platforms' joint liability.

The tariffs — and which period each belongs to

The sources do not line up. The July video grades FBS lateness as a 1–3% penalty; the March review says that from 14 April it starts at the 24-hour mark and is not less than 50 ₽, and that from 4 February overdue shipments stopped counting towards the error index — at least three changes in a few months.

How blocks come off — and the preventive habits

The transcripts hold little first-hand testimony about getting unblocked on Ozon; three routes are clear. For a moderation block, correct the card and resubmit — once the invented claim left the description, the problem closed. When payouts stop, Ozon's own video gives one address, support, reached through the cabinet chat. The third route is legal, and the only example is not from Ozon: a seller fined 200,000–300,000 ₽ a month on a rival platform for self-buyouts, 1.2 million ₽ in all, taken straight off the balance rather than invoiced, won it back in an eighteen-month lawsuit. He reports no such trouble on Ozon.

In short

Commbot keeps documents, dimensions and content fields together per card, which is where most of the errors on this list can be caught before a listing goes live.
